  • Start the engine and let it warm up. The engine needs to be at or near its normal operating temperature when adjusting the idle speed.
  • Turn the handlebars from side to side, making sure not to turn the throttle. If the engine speed changes while doing this the throttle cable may be damaged, binding, or not adjusted properly. If your engine speed does change see (insert link to tcable inspection).
  • The idle speed should be between 1250-1350 RPM. If it is not in this range, adjust it by turning the adjusting screw located on the left side behind the 'tip' of the lower fairing.
  • Twist the throttle a few times and verify that the engine returns to the correct idle speed after releasing the throttle.
