Caught at 169kmh - lost my license

So...last night i decided to go for a ride...all the while something was telling me not to go. Besides the fact i got pulled out on 4 times, almost kissing the car each time i got caught speeding!

I was so frustrated with being targeted last night when i hit the motorway i just cruised at top speed (which is not fast at all in my oppinion) a highway cop got on the on ramp i just past and he pace checked me at approx 170kmh. I was at 13,000 RPM so top speed. Lost my license for 28 Days and have to go to court in a few weeks to face a fine of up to $1000NZD (not too bad) the officer said if there was more traffic on the motorway it would have been 'dangerous driving' and i would have been arressted, bike impounded for 28days, and the court case would have a maximum of 3 months in prison and or $4500NZD fine also loss of license for 6 months etc.

Also when you loose your bike license you loose your car license too. so its going to be tricky for the next month hehe.

Peace

The metric system? What's that? That's dumb. Why can't the world have just one measuring system? What is the speed in mph? I'm an American. ::)
That would be like 101-102 mph everytime something like that happens I just go out and look at my bikes tach and find the small numbers lol.

If i had a bigger bike i would not have stopped! i would have open'd up said bye bye hehehe

Eeewww Imperial!! Its 105mph :)

Because im a learner i am meant to go no faster than 70kmh (44MPH) The motorway speed limit is 100kmh (62MPH) so i was speeding by 100kmh (62MPH)
$1000 NZD wow thats a lot! its a little over $500 USD. sorry that happened man. you should install a valentine 1 on your bike. that'd be sick.
Gotta say this because there are so many noobs here ...hope you have learned something from this. You are just learning you said, an Ya could have died and also setting a horrible example for all of us.
There is more at stake then money and your licence. Please slow down! or take it to the track.

+1000
This did need to be said. Don't know why I didn't think of it.

PS: 1000 POSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
Hmm each to their own, It has taught me to listen to my gut feeling more and pick and choose times to do things that are not legal. This will have no impact on the speeds i travel at.
Or don't do anything illegal and just have safe fun. We dont need a member losing it out there and dying. Gotta be smart about the time and place, I hope you learn a lesson from this and the track is a great place to let it loose and have fun.

Sometimes I feel the need to just open it up, no matter what I'm driving, usually on a bridge ( staight-a-way), when no traffic's around, just to get it out of my system.
that punishment seems kinda soft compared to Australian standards. over here that would equal 6 months minimum suspension, and a fine anywhere between $1,784 and $2,200 AUD. kinda makes me want to move to NZ. i'm a P plate motorcyclist. i lose my license for 3 months minimum if i'm caught speeding by 1 km/h.
I appreciate your concern, but again the fact i was caught speeding...doesnt change my mind state on my riding what so ever. It just happens that i got caught and it will cost me money...

Yah its a minimal punishment, he went easy because there was no traffic and it was late and on a bike etc. I might be able to get off the fine, see how it goes, otherwise it wont be much.

dude i think the point of giving you a ticket would be so that you'd change your behavior. Its unsafe to both you and other motorists on the road. As Zartan said, if you want to ride fast, please take it to a track. It ends up giving all motorcyclists a bad name, when there's only a select few who do stupid stuff.

this guy is one of those people: http://www.youtube.com/destined2sleep. If you keep riding like that it's gonna catch up to you eventually.
lol, at the end of the day jester, when its your time its your time. You could obey all the laws in the world and still die tommorow on a bike. I am quite confident in my riding and happy to do what i do. Im not silly with it at all, i would never put my self or others in harms way.

says he who was pulled over going 100 over the speed limit. Look dude I'm not telling you to change. I'm just saying that you shouldn't do that to yourself. I'm not telling you to go the speed limit, but I think that's a bit excessive. In the end, it is your life and you don't have to listen to what I say by any means, but it's your ass that's on the line.

Whatever you do be careful man.

That's all I have to say.
I don't know how old you are but I can relate to that. I got a speeding ticket @ 160 km-h with my first bike when I was 18 y.o. Now after my 20 years experience I think today it's not the most brilliant thing I did at that time. It's ok if you want to risk your own life but you have to understand that the others around you might not think like you do. Best way is to do these kind of things on a race track. Others will not think you pass them that fast and you might get cought somewhere and may injured somebody else wich is more important than you...just think about it.

Yeah, and sulfurboi, think about the people that care about you - girlfriend, family, whatever - and how they would feel if you hurt yourself.

Sorry. now i'm done.
ok I feel like I need to confess :)
I have opened it up on the back roads away from houses and other cars. 60 -70 in a 35 but away from people and other cars.
my point here is we get really bad raps about stunting on the freeways here. - I don't like being lumped into squid catagory because I ride a sport bike.
in our country they cut off your clutch hand.
good luck surf, I wish you safe riding.
