OK I have made my 250 ninja to valuable to risk riding on the street. And I don't have a headlight or brake lights any more. I also sold all my stuff to race. SO now I need a bike to ride on the street. I could get a used 600 or something .But I don't have any money . Still racing . But I do have a ton of 250 parts. and I know what to do with the 250 ninja.

I was thinking . Maybe I should build a bike . A 250 ninja with all my favorite stuff and offer it for sale. That way I wont go overboard.(because it would be to expensive to sell.)
If I can find a salvage 250 for say under 2000 dollars. Then built up the motor to get over 50 mpg over 30 hp and well over 15 ftlb of torque
with a KOSO dash and clip on bars .Then try to sell it while I ride it around .Would anyone want to pay 3500 dollars for a used 250 like that ? I know I would love a bike like that because I had one . And it cost me more that that the first time. But I could build one for a lot less than I have in my first one. Then sell it and build another one .Maybe call it a Dark Horse Special.

I have put together a list of part I need to build a bitchen 250 for the same cost of a new one. I need to add up all the extras then figure out what I can afford to pay for a used or salvage bike.
So approximate price
VR 6 full exhaust. Quiet core 305
JE 12.5 to one pistons 265
Sportisi BRT-Tis ignition system 215 non programmable
Stock air box with snorkel and fire shield removed
Stock carbs Jetted and tuned 65 for jet kit
JFC air filter 45
APE adjustable cam tentioner. 60
That should perk things up
Kitaco Clip ons 120
Koso Gauge RX2 379 Ouch but it is so cool
100 for the accessory kit dash and plug and play kit for the 250 ninja. ( Indecently Koso makes a plug and play kit for the 250 ninja and the RX2 gauge. I was the first to do that .Now because so many people saw it here and asked about it they make a plug and play kit ).
So for 1500 dollars + or - I am going to compile this bunch of parts . and in the mean time I will look for a cheap used or salvage 250 ninja . This is going to be a winter project.

X, would you take my 250 as a donor? :) I'm just kidding, I gotta put mo miles on it first... that looks like a bitchin set of parts....
I never thought of that . How about 500 dollars you get the parts and I will build the bike in a week . Out of you bike. You could even change stuff If you wanted. Of coarse it would be a spoof special not a Dark horse Special .
BTW I found the intake runners .I will post them today.

X, I've been thinking on your proposition heavily, but I would sacrificing one of my own goals for the ninja. And I'm thinking my time-line doesn't quite match up to yours. So maybe one day, but for the time being I must respectfully decline.

Well you do live a bit of a distance. I am thinking like Carol Shelby or Don Yenko. Building factory custom bikes .Like the Shelby Mustang Or Yenko Camero .I am building Dark Horse Ninjas.

What is the goal you are sacrificing?
But if anyone wants me to do accessory installation . I will do that for anyone in my area

X, I'd be cheating myself in my goal to get as much out of the 250 using only stock parts. I really want to see what a reconfigured exhaust header, can, airbox and some cam work does.... :p Although, maybe after, say at 40-50K or so, I'd be down for some mods... :)
