Bar ends, where art thou?

When I bought my '99 EX500, it came without bar ends and my daily commuting is a major pain for my hands due to handlebar vibrations. I had a friend order them from a member on another site for me on 20 May and they still aren't here, what could be taking so long? Is it a scammer or just pure incompetence? I don't know what's going on, but my friend is mad because he hates being cheated and rightly so, I'm upset because my hands hurt. What should we do? He wants the bar ends or a refund via paypal and all I want are some bloody bar ends. Bah, I hate dealing with people online for things like this, too much uncertainty. :( I guess I'm taking the car out tomorrow, it's like my handle bars are connected to a weedeater on full throttle. Maybe it's just me, I don't know, but my hands keep going numb and falling asleep which is very dangerous.

If you are trying to combat wrist, hand and ever all muscle fatigue I suggest looking into woodcraft clip-ons and some rubber grip padding that goes on your gas tank. Your thighs grip the rubber allowing you to control the bike more with biddy weight instead of using a death grip with your hands. That combo works for me and other people that have rode my bike love it. Hope this helps or at least gives you something to look into

Bar ends may help your problem a little bit, but won't completely solve it. Do these things in addition to bar ends to help minimize vibrations as well.

1) Replace your stiff grips with silicone ones (Progrip 719's )
2) Loosen your grip on the handlebars. A tight grip cuts off circulation, thus increasing the numbness is you hands. Also keep a tank full of gas. (fluid in the tank helps deaden vibrations especially on the 250/300)
3) Ensure you tires/wheels are properly balanced/inflated. Hard, old tires transfer vibrations to the frame of the bike.
4) Make sure the front end of the bike is properly lubed and adjusted and all engine mounts are secure and properly torqued.
5) Get a pair of gloves that offer a bit more padding

Don't wait until it is too late to request a refund. I've seen tooo many people get screwed and have to go thru the claims process and Paypal BS to get their product. Sometimes it's not worth the savings. The same bar ends that fit the Ninja 250, fit your bike. Heavy bar ends like the stock ones are better anyway. Check with your local dealer, Craigslist or online parts store.

Short fingered padded palm weight lifting gloves work great.
