Everyone's bike i assume has some nicks and scratches that have accumulated throughout the years that tell a story. Whenever i damage something that i own that is nice (like my lil 250r)... it hurts me inside, but i get over it because all the little things tell little stories and will help me remember all sorts of little things i experienced while riding... like a picture i suppose. Personally.. i bought my ninja 250r with 300 or so miles on it with a few scratches already put on it; which may be a byproduct of the reason that the owner let it get repoed. Sadly, i don't know the story behind the minor "booboos" on the exhaust and gas tank, but the bent shifter and screwed up turn signal on the left side always help remind me of how i'm on a machine that could kill me if i get too cocky like i did while parkin the damn thing in my girlfriend's inclined driveway.

What are some stories your bikes tell you when you look at them?

i had soft saddle bags on my 250ninja that used a pair of snap buckles to hook together once while riding over a railroad track my front buckle unclasped and the bag was sitting on my hot muffler by the time i found a place to turn over to stop the fabric had melted to the chrome it was stuck on so good that i could never get it all off.so while seeing the stained chrome the lesson i learned was to make sure to have a second safety tiedown to all my bike luggage.

Pulled into driveway, car was blocking half a gate entrance, first thought was walk bike in. No no, I'll drive it in hero joe says. As I was playing with clutch n gas to ease by the car, hit bump at opening of entrance causing me to pop the clutch, that in combination with the thin cheap leather gloves(which stuck to the throttle, now I use suede palms) caused me to crash into my shed. Broke off right mirror, scratched windshield , dropped bike ,scratched lower fairing n bashed helmet against shed. Needless to say ,I now gently walk the bike into the yard.

If you look to the right of picture, u see the shed buried in snow, if u zoom in on the corner u can see where my head hit. I didn't realize I hit my head till about a week later when I was cleaning my helmet n noticed the vent on top was crooked n scratched.
