Hey guys, I just picked up a green 2012 Ninja 1000ABS, and I have been seriously thinking about installing some frame sliders on it. But so far haven't really found the right information regarding this. The dealer I bought the bike from said he can place and order for OEM Kawasaki sliders, but will charge me $127 for the installation. I am thinking on installing the sliders myself and thus save a little dough!

I am looking for suggestions on buying and installing the sliders. I am hoping to find some no-cut sliders which are easy to install. Any help?

PS: the bike is just amazing!!! already put ~400 miles in 5 days.

We don't have many Ninja 1000 owners here, but there are plenty on riderforums.com. There is a whole section there dedicated to this bike. We are hoping that one day we are big enough to have the same amount of knowledge on this site,but we need more riders willing to pool the information here.

Have a look at the t-rex frame slider kit. i bought mine from eBay. i also installed them myself. Taking the fairings off is relatively easy.
Ill post a photo of my bike for you to check out

These weren't the easiest to install, had to remove both fairings, but they really saved my baby. Wrecked at the track doin 90, and you can see how the one on the left did. But then I dumped er over, and it bent into the fairing, so time for new!

I love mine too! Got er in April and we just turned over 4200 miles of bliss.
