Only helpful if they both fit properly. I know I am stating the obvious. Sometimes we get wrapped up in freebies that are not actually helpful. If they fit correctly it is a plus, however I would not base buying the bike on this fact alone.

Buying a second hand helmet is also a dangerous proposition. Everyones head is different and makes an impression in the foam when it finally settles on your head. Because one persons head has compressed that particular spot it may not be offering you the best protection in that particular area.
Also, you can't always know if a helmet has been dropped or abused.

Not to mention... ever get a wiff of some used helmets? Sweat, hair, blah. Sometimes I don't like to put my OWN helmet back on in the Summer time. I agree that a free helmet is not necessarily a value added feature. Get the best deal on a good solid bike and have enough money left over for good gear that will last you over the span of many great motorcycles.
