Called my dealership yesterday to see if they had any word on the 09's. They said it would probably be a few more weeks before they arrived. I told them I had a deposit down and wanted to know "roughly" about where I was in the order to recieve a bike. The guy on the phone disappeared for about 3 min and then came back, stating he didn't know....but that they had sold about 50 08 250r's since January. Oh well, I thought, a few more weeks is not gonna hurt.
In my dismay (and out of sheer boredom) I decided to head down to the dealership today to try on helmets so I can order one online......and sure enough, there is an 09 parked right outside in blue with a "Sold" sign on it. At this point I am a little irritated since I was just told by the guy on the phone a few days prior that it would be a few weeks before they were getting them in (I put a deposit down for a blue one about a month ago). Apparently, not for the girl (looking all of 16 yrs. old) sitting on it while I think her dad was inside paying. Now, don't get me wrong, I believe that if you have a deposit first, than you should recieve a bike first, but this whole situation was just getting on my nerves. Was it the fact that she was getting a bike first? No. Was it the fact that she looked like a high school girl that just got picked up from "P.E."? No.
"Ark, tell us what it is! We are on the edge of our seats!"
It was the fact that while she was sitting on it outside.....the sales guy was showing her where the throttle was, where the brakes were, what the gauges do,.....and yes............how to turn it on. "Maybe it was her dad's bike?" I thought that at first, and No.
So there you have it folks....some of you are waiting for 09's while girls that appear to be 16 yrs old who can't turn them on are driving around.
Now, you will all have to excuse me, I am going to go write an essay on motorcycle insurance.
