Forgot to mention... Rear wheel power on the cbr500 and ninja400 are nearly identical... And thats with the honda having 72cc displacement advantage ;)

The cbr specs come from motousa dyno test....

Forgot to mention there could also be a difference in the fuel type of fuel injection system fitted to the bike. I learned that the Canadian version of the 400r has the better fuel injection system...
