In stop and go Liquid cooled bikes still get hot but not as quickly as traditional motors. Still we need specifics bud you told us miles and in traffic but what are you calling over heating. When the fan comes on? Do you get a warning light? Does your temp gauge show you as hot? Be specific please. Remember we are here to help you of your not specific we cant do that. The lack of specifics is why ppl get so many off the wall answers

My 650 when in the heat of the summer......

Driving in city traffic hitting what seems like every stinkin light in the world.....

Gets a bit warmer then i like........

All it will do is.......

Kick the fan in for a while...on n off as it needs.....but....
The hot light never comes on........
What i will do at lights i know i'm gunna be sitting there quite a while is.......

Shut the bike off till i know my light is gunna be coming up.....

We all know how to look at the other lanes lights n can figure out easliy when our turn will be coming up in a bit......

Then i'll hit that magic button n zoom-zoom....i'm ready 4 the green....

It easier 4 me then sitting there listening to that fan kick in n out for what feels like a hour at them long ass lights.....

Is the temp gauge in the red? Does the fan not shut off? Is coolant coming from the overflow bottle? What's happening that make you say it's overheating?
Really though, with just 800 mi, if there is an issue I wouldn't start messing with it myself. You should go back to the dealer that did the 600 mi service and explain the issue to them. If there is a problem you need it documented in order to have any warranty coverage at a later date.

I took the bike to the shop and the fan was not coming on. They are ordering a new part and it's under warranty.
