A DOT Helmet is better then a bandana.....
Heavy jeans are better then shorts, but not by much.....
Same goes with a Jacket.........Heavy denim at the least....
N some type of decent gloves.......

earl you say some pretty ridiculous things on here but brother that one was just plain dumb. Not everyone can afford good gear. Dude that was a helmet test showing what would happen to your head in a crash. You wear that first one into a wreck and you probably won't have a head left. And I know I started the thread wrong but wanted to catch people's eyes snell helmets aren't always expensive hell
Mine was 200.00 when I actually bought a helmet Hell the rest were given to me. As well as a few fancy looking dots that are shelf queens. The reason to wear a good anything is pretty simple but man on a helmet if this doesn't convince you nothing will

N the 200 buck armored jacket n 200 buck pants some can't afford...
So heavy pants n a heavy jacket is gunna be better then shorts n a T....

Hell even a scateboard helmet is gunna be better then just ur scalp....

I've spent over a grand on a quality helmet , Kevlar pants, armoured jacket and gloves.

Dress for the slide, not for the ride.

I myself have cheap gear, but hell it's better then none at all.....
I know my armored jacket n pants aren't much sliding down a freeway at 100 MPH, but i bet it's a little better then shorts n a T.....
N my 50 buck DOT helmet mite not hold up to a head flying crash into a truck, but it mite do ok sliding down the road with minimal impacts....

It's not that I'm loaded. It was factored into my finances when buying my bike. I could have brought a brand new bike with minimal or no safety gear or a used bike with good quality gear. I chose the latter as I was lucky the deal I got on the used bike gave me the extra I needed to stay safe. It ain't about bein rich. It's bein smart.
