There are different styles/types/brands of frame sliders, cut, no-cut. All depends on what you want and how you want it installed.
I cut my fairings to accommodate my frame sliders cause I wanted the slider bolt to go straight into the engine hole from the engine bolt removed. I felt this was the strongest point. No-cut off-sets the bolt point but leaves the fairing intact.

Haha, well I would love to become one with beyonce, but I feel me and her have already grown quite aquainted in the 30 miles I have carriaged her around my campus early, early morning- with no plates nor active insurance
I just like things to be perfect- and KNOW they are the best they can be.. which is kind of ironic, because if someone else does the work.. how do I know it is done AT ALL!? arghhh..
Bottom line- I know what you are saying Felix, most def need to get more info on anything I can. Can someone point me in the direction of the copies user manual?

Blackout, I found 1 thread with a reference to the online manual, but the link is dead. I'm sure Kawi hunts this stuff down and gets it pulled from the host's site... There used to a second link to another site, but I have no idea where that's hidden, and search isn't bring it up... You might have to buy a paper copy....
Oh, and your reasons for wanting to take it the dealership are completely valid, and I respect them, but I also know the quicker you start jumping into a wrenching, the faster you'll become a real rider - you know, the type that not only rides, and rides a lot, but can understand the signals the bike is giving you.
Felix wasn't kidding about becoming one with the bike.... My bike Cherry will do something on the road and almost instantaneously I will know what to start looking to figure out why she told me what she did.... Some people think it's funny when I/we refer to our bikes as if they're people, but the bond between a rider and he/her machine is so much greater than the bond between a cage and it's occupier. Why? Because the stakes are much higher on the moto, and quite simply, as you start approaching the limits, you just have to become closer and closer, or you/the bike will get hurt.... I don't mean to lecture. It's my view of things and I feel compelled to share...
I'm also just a little past head-over-heals in love with my 250....

Cherry.. she sounds like a sweetheart. I hope I can meet her one day. Who was the best man at your picture-perfect asphalt marriage!?
Haha, but in all seriousness- I appreciate the lecture more then anything. After a bit of thinking it did make much more sense to me, with the risks you accept along with driving about on a two wheeler, especially if you have a passion for it more then just a means of transportation. I, in my heart of hearts, want to be one of the riders you describe as 'bonded' with his/her bike. That will be my goal this summer. To learn about my bike and attend to every inch of her shimmering body
Thanks again spooph, in a weird way, you just opened my eyes to riding in a whole new way!

you bring tears to my eyes. I wish everybody responded as well as you do...
You can meet her, and me. And Felix in fact, this summer... Join us in Vegas for the New Ninja meet. Check Felix's "Coming to America" thread for details...

Just checked it out.. it is that terribly-brutal-awesome sort of awesome. I would love to meet up with you guys. I am thinking I MIGHT be doing my first internship for my radiology prog. but if not, that sounds like a SOLID plan. Jesus, I have never been to Vegas either. Would probably drive it with a buddy.. man would that be a blast!
BTW, got over to cyclegears and they had a pair of the Alpinesports Harlem Airs displayed.. I think I let out a few girl squeals in excitement, which must have gotten the salesperson attention, because he grabbed the pair off the rack, winked and punched my shoulder like 'I know how it feels to get your first pair of kickass boots'
(or 'I am a single young-twenties gay man and I am interested in taking you for a different kind of ride then these boots may provide') but hey, whos counting?
Point is, I got a pair for 165 bucks. I am very happy with them, and the fact I got to try them on before I bought. They feel great and it makes me happy that I have completed my suit of armor, now I can contribute any remaining money *the little I have* to aftermarket parts.
Wanted to start with getting my exhaust all set, which was about 260, and maybe some flourescent yellow wheel stripes along with a dark black smoked windscreen (I am going black/yellow schemes. Have not seen this done on a 250r much, and I would like to do it.. plus it adds some visibility to me since the black bike/helmet doesnt help my cause of visibility much)
I ended up getting the exhaust in Yellow base/black euro tip. I feel it will really contrast the color of my bike awesome and bring out the suttle yellow in my gear/small addons like windscreen rubber tips, tank covers, wheelstripes or any other little places I decide to throw some sunshine.
