I think that photo was taken at the finish line because I am just starting to sit up.  I have a check list of things to do. first is my toes on the pegs.  the Woodcraft rearsets are small . If my toes are on the pegs then they can't be sticking out.
The next thing is my butt againced the bumper pad. moving the pegs back and lowering the rear of the bike will help that.
The next thing is to put my chest on the tank and helmet on the tank. the problem is the further down the track I can see the easyer it is to go streight. as I look closer to the ground in fromt of me I tend to drift around.
I have to get through 5 cleen shifts then the tuck all in 50 seconds . It is deffinitly fun.

Hey Darkhorse do you get as much fun as I did telling people that you have a pair of pistons at 14000 rpm less than a foot away from your chest? Cheesy

Thank godness the rev limiter kicks in at 13500 rpm . Other wise I would be afraid to have a pair of pistons at 14000 rpm a foot from my chest.

What year do you have? I was sure the limiter kicked in at 13.5. But it may have bin 14.5 now I am not sure.
The 1989 250 ninja had a rev limiter at 15000 so I hear.

I got the fiberglass body work fitted and painted in time for Maxton. There is no headlight and no merror bumps to sturr up the air. I need the bubble windshild but that will have to weight.

I lowered the rear and put on the Woodcraft rear sets. This will help with my tuck. I only need 2.1 mile an hour for the record so every little bit helps.

I hope so. I will run again on June 28- 29th at Maxton'c Monster mile. It is lighter and smooter than before. I can get into a tighter tuck because of the rear pegs.
But I have not done anything to the engine since my last run. That run was 104.720 mph. I need 106.8 to break the record.

The last time I ran the bike went faster every run. The wind was terrible and as the day went on the temp went up . So it seems the warmer it gets the faster I go.

It should be hot in North Carolina in June . I have some jets to change and on sunday I am going to try removing the muffler to see what difference it makes. Probubly slower but "I gots to know".

1994. I can't say that I recall ever hitting the limiter. I had assumed that it did not have one. I should also be up front by admitting that the tach redlines at an indicated 14000 even but there is the redline and then there is the redline.

I am going to look into using the early ignition computer to raise my redline. It was just a thought .I have not had time to look into it yet.

Darkhorse-

3 quick easy things to get that extra 3 mph:

0W40 Mobil I
a radial 120/70/17 [front] tire on the rear (6 less ls than that bias 130 stocker)
a non o-ring chain (much less rolling resistance)

Betcha that does it. I'll betcha the oil and chain give you 1.5 to 2 extra hp.

The chain is going to be on for October also a new front fender that covers the front of the tire.
THANKS. I did not think of 0w40 oil .All I am looking for is thenths of a mile an hour. That is the kind of thing I need.
I run 75 lb of tire pressure and I all ready have a set of new tires. But thiner will be better .
