I'm getting the same mileage as before, right around 50-55, and I drive it pretty hard. I will be shimming the carb needles soon, not because I think the muffler needs it, but because the bike has always felt a little lean down low, and it has never started nicely.

Elliot and I have gone over some things and have decided on a price for the Muffler Mod. We also came up with a name for it;

The "Super Stock" Muffler

Send us your stock muffler and we will modify it like you see here. We use only stainless steel, and high heat muffler packing. Elliot's welding is done on a professional TIG welder, and his quality is top-notch. Turn-around time will be under 2 weeks.

*** "Super Stock" Muffler Mod - $200 + Return Shipping ***

We accept money orders, and I will setup a paypal link soon (paypal fees will apply).

This price is not for a muffler that will be sent to you. You have to take off your muffler and send it to:

Turblown Engineering
22045 N. 88th Ave
Peoria, AZ 85383

Turblown is a well known, reputable performance shop here in Phoenix, AZ. You can check out our website at www.turblown.net .

We understand that some people cannot go without their muffler for up to 2 weeks, and we threw around the idea of having a refundable core charge so we could ship them out to these people, but it is too much of a hassle. We recommend you buy one from ebay, craigslist, or another member on the forum here and send it to us to modify if you cannot wait. Then when you recieve your new modified muffler you can sell your stock one. If you need any help finding one, feel free to PM me.

If you would like to order this mod, or have any questions, please send me a message.

Yes, glass packs do eventually need to be repacked. As far as having it done I will talk with Elliot and see how much we would charge to cut it back open and repack it. I wish I could give you a set time frame of how long it will last before needing a repack, but mine is the only prototype, and I am not anywhere close to needing that yet.

i kinda have a welding sheet metal back ground try thinking about a sleeve to weld to the tip part of it and then make it so u seal it the just a couple pop rivits to put it together instead of welding it all the way then all someone has to do is just drill ot the rivits and repack and seal and rivit it back together just a thought i was goin to do that with the one i want to make but i have no time... (boeing is working me to the grave)

I like the idea, but at that point there is so much time invested in modifying the stock muffler that we couldn't keep the price that low. I did some reading and found that most people go 25-30k miles before repacking...which is quite a bit of time, especially if the bike is just a weekend toy, and not your daily driver. Even putting 1000 miles on it a month thats 2 to almost 3 years before needing a repack.

either way, it's still worth it to me to spend 200 bucks vs 500 bucks.

This wasn't ever designed to be something for us to sell, but there has been so much interest (you should see my email and youtube messages!) that we decided to offer this modification. It is great for someone who isn't trying to go all out (like a full exhaust system) and just wants a nice deep sounding slip on without spending an arm and a leg.
