i think this is like the most useful helpful thing...great post man..i'm very very new at this and im sure there r alot of ppl like me probably here too in the forum and man how great and helpful would it be for ppl like me if you posted something like this for eveything..like oil change coolant check etc..to know where everything is basically and how to do things.. so one can minimize the number of ppl messing with one's bike and save some $ too...i mean no matter how pro the guys at the dealership or any workshop r, i believe no one cares abt the bike more than its owner!!! plus it will be fun i think to do evrything doable by yourself..just a thought.

I completely agree prospect! No one has more love for their vehicle than themselves. I am slowly working towards an FAQ section that will have info on all of the basics. Everyone who rides a motorcycle should be competent enough to do their own basic maintenance, some people just need more information.

This really helped.  I have seen the bigger clips before but those lil round ones that you just push in would have really stumped me .  Thanks.

Hi to all! Just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for the excellent information! I'm a new rider and new Ninja owner, and after reading your article, I was able to remove my fairings for some minor cosmetic repairs myself. I'm not at all mechanically inclined and know nothing about working on bikes. Fortunately, none of that was required! lol. All it took was a little patience and some confidence in myself.
Anyway, kudos for the site and for the great info therein!

I'm about to put my right one back on, But I don't remember where the two little rubber bolts went, Had to take them off for paint!

This is going to be fun (stressing).

Some random little piece of rubber fell off aswell. Has left me hella confused.

Time to waltz down the shed and see what I can do I suppose.

Is it round, like 1/4 in thick, about half inch around, one side is flat and the other has the rubber comming to a point?? If this is it I might know where it goes.

Nawe I'll take a photo of it sooner or later, I've got allot of photos I need to do something with soon so I'll wait until shortly after Christmas then throw it up and do all my photos at once.

My fairing cracked again after being on for 5 mins as well. Didn't even get to ride before it happened. :p

I guess it just wasn't welded properly.. Going to take it back in sooner or later.

I'm more preoccupied with trying to get the exhaust I want organised now.. Been trying to get my hands on a two bro's but its proving harder than expected.. That and prices went up $200 in 2 months. Might f**k it off and just go with an Area P :p

This will really help me out in the spring when I take all of my plastics off to clean up the motor from road dust. Thanks for the post.
