Hello all! I'm buying a green 250 ninja at the end of may , I want to see Ur guys bikes! If u have a 2010-2012 250 ninja post Ur pics I WAna see what's coming to me !
He LOVES it!!! He has ridden it every day since we picked it up. He has progressively been given a bit more lee way on where and when he can ride. This is his first bike, as for now he has a 5-6 mile radius from the house he can ride -however no freeway yet.
My son took two (2) MSF courses prior to getting his bike = HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! He took the intro 1/2 day course and the beginners 2 day course. He had not ridden anything other than a Jet ski prior to taking the intro class. He did pick up the shifting and clutch work very quickly - he had the advantage of learning to drive a car with a standard transmission. Each of our 3 Honda's have a manual transmission. He got the clutch/shifting learning curve worked out when he got his learners permit at 15.5 years old.
Depending on your experience the clutch may be a breeze or may be a difficult transition - hard to know over the internet. However, I would highly recommend the MSF beginners course where you can learn to use the clutch and shift levers in a controlled safe environment.
Good luck...... and most importantly = ATGATT !!

Right on. It looks good and I like that idea so I may do the same. Also thinking about a Kleen air mod but I do not really understand what it really gains you. The previous owner did it to my bike and when I took a look at the reeds they where all gummed up with carbon chunks and oil. I figured it wasn't to healthy for the bike so I hooked it straight to the crankcase until I got the censor and returned it to the stock set up. At the time I was fighting a power commander issue that ended up being a issue with the throttle positioning wire on the pow.
devans did you get your bike yet? I'm also a new rider. Well relatively new. Bought my bike two seasons ago. Bought the red ninja 250r. Its been a great bike to learn on but I'm starting to itch for a 600. Unfortunatle I'm a short rider, 5'4", so not sure what are my options.
No I didn't get one just yet. I'm saving up to put a down payment on one so they are more leinient with my cosigner. And I'm starting to sway towards getting a 650 . U like Ur 250 ?

Yes! It's a great bike! Ideal for new riders. For a 250 it's pretty quick. However, after two seasons I feel I need something with a little more power. Not that I would go racing or go faster but noticed the 250 lacking that off the block kick or passing someone in the freeway. I feel I would be safer with something with a little power if I need to. With that said I don't think I would have been better off if I started with a higher CC bike. With learning anything new, you will always be nervous at first and the 250 is very tolerant of new riders.
Well do you know anyone with a 250? If so maybe you can try it out. You won't be dissatisfied! It's a great bike. Also just ask others 250 owners and better yet, someone who use to have a 250 and upgraded. This way you will have a better view and you can make a more informed decision. Hope that helps man!.
Most of the time it's just me so that's why I have the seat cowl. Sometimes my fiancé likes to hop on with me but not this year since we are due to have a baby in August.
